1. Consider your room size. Lighter colors can make a small room feel a lot more open, while dark colors can make surfaces appear closer, giving bigger spaces a more intimate feel. Bright, cool whites can make a room feel a lot bigger and more vast, while warmer colors can make a space feel personal and cozy.
2. Don’t focus on finding the perfect match. Instead, try finding a paint palette around your wallpaper’s main color. Try to find five or six colors that will contrast with that primary color or offer a different shade of that main color.

3. Take a sample to your paint store. You can take a sample of the wallpaper you’re using straight to your paint store. They can easily color match a specific color from the wallpaper.
4. There are no rules. Just remember that it’s your home, your space, your choice. Color palettes and schemes are great guidelines to help you choose what paint to use, but it doesn’t mean it’s what you have to choose. They’re just guidelines. You can stay as far away from those guidelines or get as close as possible.

Whatever paint color you choose, just remember that if you absolutely hate it… you can always paint over it! But to avoid this, we do suggest getting samples of a few different paint colors that you are considering, and adding a paint swatch to your walls. Walk by them at different times of the day with different lighting, and see which one you like the most. But most importantly, have fun and enjoy the process!
